A Sad Lesson
This week, by children learned a sad lesson. Our neighbors that live on the other side of the back of our fence has a black lab named Duke. This last week while our neighbors were celebrating their anniversary, and some relatives were watching Duke, Duke got into a bag of slug bait, and ate it. Of course, Duke died from it. My kids loved to play with Duke through the fence, and watch him from the upstairs window playing in his back yard. My kids learned the hard lesson about something dying, and not coming back. One thing this experience has done in a postive way, is make my children more aware of the things that our dog eats. Every once in a while, I hear a small voice say, I miss Duke.
