Thanksgiving

what a great time we had!  Every year we get together with my hubby's family the day after thanksgiving, and build graham cracker houses.  They bought us all sooo  much candy to put on our houses!!  There was so much there, that we couldn't possibly use it all.  Needless to say, I have a rubbermaid container FULL of candy!  This is gonna be quite the challenge, keeping the kids from thinking about it.  Perhaps I can use it as leverage..MUHAHAAHAA!!  This year was the first year that my youngest was able to make her own house.  Well, I built it, and she stuck candy on it.  She was soo funny!  Every time she put a piece on, she would say.."There you go!"  And when ever she pulled out a broken piece, she would say.." uh oh, it's broken.  I eat it!"  The other three were so excited about the houses.  They loved being able to lick the glue (frosting).  We then took pictures of all of the kids with their houses, and then us grown ups got to make our own houses.  My hubby made (tried to at least) a church, and I just stuck with making a plain square house.  Tommorrow we are gonna stay around home and put up the christmas tree, and have hot chocolate and a movie.  This time of year is so much fun!  It was fun when we were young and got to open presents, but I think that there is a greater amount of joy and excitement when we are able to see our own kids opening their own presents.  The first week in December we are going to go up to my parents house, and make tree ornaments, and different decorations.  My mother is the queen of crafts and creativeness!  Move over Martha!!  My kids absolutly love to do crafts with their Grandma.  I love it too, cause it gives me a chance to be artsy craftsy, and get my mind off of homeschooling for a bit.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  God Bless you and Keep you!  May his face shine upon you!  And give you peace.
