Stevia

Have any of you ever heard of Stevia?  It's an herb that can be used as a sugar substitute.  This last spring I bought a stevia plant, and planted it.  when it got really big I cut it down and hung it upside down to dry.  Today I pulled off the leaves and ground them up in the blender.  I tried putting some of it in my tea and it works great!  It is amazing just how sweet the leaves are.  A little goes a long way.  I wasn't able to get it ground down as much as I'd like it to be, but it still works.  I think I need to invest in a mortar and pestal in order to get it to be powdery.  What a cool plant!!
