so many things, so little time

I have been absolutely swamped lately.  Homeschooling, church, blog designing,  keeping up with the house, spinning yarn, and all of our little activities in between, have made it hard for me to find time to sit down and blog on my own blog.

A week ago, I noticed that our brand new laminate flooring was coming apart.  It was buckling and warping.  We haven't even had the floor in for a year yet, and it's coming apart.   We figured out what the problem was though.  My dishwasher had been leaking for quite a while, and the water had been flowing under the flooring.  So now I am out of a dishwasher, and need my floor replaced.  It's been hard not having a dishwasher, but at the same time it has been wonderful for my kids to learn how to do dishes by hand.  So in that way, I am glad that my dishwasher died.  Even now as I type, I can hear my two youngest ones doing the breakfast dishes.

I have also been able to make my own laundry soap too!  I have friends who have been making their own laundry soap for long time.  I noticed that the Duggars also use the same recipe for their own laundry soap.  So I gave it a try.  It works really good!  I added lavender essential oil to mine though, to give it a pretty scent.  Here it is!

I am have also been experimenting, and trying to lacto-ferment different things.  I have tried beets, cucumbers, and ginger carrots so far.  The beets tasted terrible, I am nervous to try the carrots, but the cucumbers...YUM!  They turned out wonderful.

Our homeschooling is moving along at a steady pace.  I am NOT a very good organizer, and when I do finally sit down and get a schedule or lesson plans written out, things always come up and the whole plan goes to pot.  So for now, I am making sure that the 3R's are covered everyday, and then when time permits I throw in some history, science, and latin (which is maybe 3 times a week).   I always feel satisifed, knowing that we got our Bible time in, and at least covered the 3R's.   I have wanted to use my blog as a log or journal entry to keep track of what we do everyday.  It is good to write things down so I can see exactly how our homeschool is progressing.  Perhaps I will start doing that today!

**Prayer request**

I have a relative that has a little girl with Biliary Atresia, and her little girl had a liver transplant early Sunday morning. If you could keep her little girl in your prayers, it would be a huge blessing.   You can learn more about it here.   Trinity Conn.
