Farewell Roosevelt

About 3 years ago, my daughter bought herself a Beta fish. Last week, poor Roosevelt our one eyed Beta Fish passed away.   I knew for awhile that he wasn't doing too good.  It was just a matter of time.

We had a little funeral for him, said a few words about how much fun he was, and shed a few tears.

I dug a hole under our pear tree.  Madeline wrapped him up in a paper towel and gently placed in the hole.

Even though he was just a fish, he was a fun part of our homeschool.  There were a few days where we would put his tank in the middle of the kitchen table and watch him swim around while the kids did their work.   Every once in while the kids would pull out the magnifying glass and get a good  close look at him.

Madeline helped scoop dirt on top of him, and all the kids made a nice little grave site for Roosevelt.

In our adoption news...  Adam and I atttend a wonderful seminar about a week ago.  We learned so much!  It also made it feel all so real.  We are actually doing it!  We have talked about adopting for so long, and are now actually going through the process.  It's so exciting!

We are still waiting on my fingerprints to go through the state.  It takes the government SO long to do things.  The wheels of government grind slowly as they say.  As soon as the fingerprints are done and everything is cleared, we can finally get to our homestudy.    In the meantime, we have been trying to organize our house.  We have been working on turning our 4th bedroom back into a bedroom rather than a room to store computer parts and books.  We were given a crib, and I have family and friends who pretty much have everything else the baby would need like a change table, bassinet, etc.  It has been so long since we have had a baby in the house.  It's almost as if we are having our first child again!  Except this time I have four anxious little helpers who will want to take care of the baby.

I want to thank all of my clients who hired me lately to do their blog design.  Your donations have been very helpful!   We have quite a ways to go to pay for this adoption, and every little bit helps.   I am thankful that God has given me a way to aid in the fundraising.

Thank you Bloggers!
