Last week we had our second and final home study visit. We were interviewed apart from each other. Some of those questions are quite deep and probing, I hardly knew what to say. The social worker also interviewed each of our kids separately, and asked them what they thought about adoption. My kids are SO excited about having another brother or sister, it was easy for them to answer that question.
I am so happy to annouce though, that we were approved! The social worker is writing up our home study report this week, and hopefully by the end of August we will have our home study summaries and family profiles shipped out to the placing agencies. After that is the waiting period. It is totally up to the Lord to move upon a birthmother's heart to allow us to raise her child as our own.
It has been so much fun getting the baby's room put together, and to start thinking about baby things once again. It has been 6 years since I have thought about what goes into caring for a baby. It may be a little hard to get back into the routine of having a baby around the house, but we are SO ready and look forward to every minute of it.
We are still praying for God to provide, and show us ways to finance it all. I am busy looking into grants, loans, and credit cards. I am not looking forward to the debt we will incur, but it will all be worth it in the end. Life is priceless!
