To Be One

I was honored to be able to review the movie To Be One. To Be One is an excellent movie that follows three young couples as they go through courtships. Modern society has made serial dating the norm. But for us Christians, is dating the best God has for us? Should we be dating over and over until we find the right one? Or should we be seeking God and trusting that He will bring the right one to us at the right moment?

More and more, I think Christians are realizing that going through a courtship is by far better than dating. Dating does not prepare someone for marriage, while courting does. Dating if anything, prepares a person for divorce.

The three couples in the movie approach courtships in three different ways. Although I think that two of them do some ceremonial and traditional activities that I wouldn't necessarily do, the heart behind all of three of them are the same. Glorify God in their courtship, keep themselves pure and above reproach, and seek God in every situation so their marriages would be established upon Lord.

I recommend this movie to any Christian family who has young children. Our children will be at the marrying stage before we know it. My prayer is that my children will have a heart for the Lord like these couples do, and that they will approach marriage the way God intended it.
