A few months back the NGJ magazine had a small little article about Friendship Dresses. They were so cute, and the instructions were so simple! Over the past couple of weeks, I have been getting together with my neighbor across the street to sew these dresses for our daughters. We bought a bunch of little T-shirts from Wal-mart and a yard of fabric per shirt. I couldn't believe how cute, and how easy it was to make them. We were able to sew 5 dresses in about 2 hours. Altogether we have around 13 dresses sewn now. Here is a couple of our favorites so far.

Eventually we are hoping to be able to sell these dresses in an Etsy store, or locally at a farmers market. Along with drop spindles, yarn, and other handmade items.
In homeschooling news...Sonlight curriculum has been a lot of fun to use. My kids have enjoyed the reading selections, and I have the piece of mind knowing that they are learning some great things. We have come to the end of our wordly wise workbooks, and I am leaning more toward buying the writing tales workbooks next. Wordly Wise has been fun and the kids have liked them, but I am looking for something that can cover all of the bases in one book. Writing Tales looks like it will be a perfect fit for Language Arts. I welcome any reviews!
**Adoption Update**
It's been a slow steady climb. I got my fingerprints sent back to me, to be redone. The first batch was too smudgy for the government, so I had them done again. It will most likely be another few months to get those back. Adam and I are plodding through a couple of adoption related books that are required reading for the program we are in. That has been difficult. There are things that have been good to know, but there is also a lot of psycho babble that won't apply to our situation. One thing that I think is a plus for us, is the fact that we homeschool. A lot of hurt will be avoided that way. Homeschooling will also give me plenty of time to equip our adopted child with the knowledge and strength they will need to deal with any racial comments or situations that may arise when they are adults.
This next month we will attend a seminar held by the adoption agency, and then it will be time for the homestudy. We are all so anxious! It's amazing to think that our child probably hasn't been conceived yet, but God has a plan laid out.
